“Nearly 300 participants from the 26 provinces of the DRC and about 15 African countries are expected to attend the International Women’s Elites Forum (FIEF-DRC 2026), scheduled from October 8th to 11th in Kinshasa. Discussions will focus on key issues such as artificial intelligence, digital entrepreneurship, women’s leadership, women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health, prevention of gender-based violence, positive masculinity, diplomacy, peace building, as well as reparation mechanisms for victims,” the statement said. According to the published document, the event is taking place in a context where African women continue to face major challenges despite progress made in promoting gender equality.
FIEF-DRC 2026 aims to strengthen participants’ skills, showcase successful experiences, promote mentoring and develop sustainable South-South cooperation networks.
According to the source, the proceedings are expected to result in recommendations and concrete commitments aimed at strengthening women’s participation in governance, peace processes, economic innovation and digital transformation. The forum will also provide a platform for meetings between public decision-makers, technical and financial partners, the private sector, civil society, and young leaders and women entrepreneurs from across the continent.
“Through this mobilization, the DRC reaffirms its determination to make women’s leadership, innovation and equal opportunities major drivers of sustainable development, social cohesion and peace in Africa,” the statement said.
The forum received technical and financial support from several strategic partners, including United Nations agencies, diplomatic missions, international organizations and civil society. ACP/
