Kinshasa, September 2nd, 2025 (CPA).- An appeal has been made to women of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to get to know themselves before committing to marriage, during Tuesday’s vernissage of the book ‘Married Woman… And Then What?’.
‘Through this first book, I have wanted to share my experience, my teachings and numerous testimonials with the aim of helping women understand that marriage is not an end goal but a mission and the start of a true life journey. This book is a call to women to get to know themselves before committing, to choose wisely, to remain women while being wives, to unleash their potential without feeling guilty, and to build a home with balance and faith,‘ has declared Yolande Mbindu Tshefu, writer and author of the book ’Married Woman… And Then What? ».
‘I have shared with the audience practical tools and inspiring advices to support every woman in building a healthy marriage, but above all, a life aligned with her identity, her calling and her inner peace,’ she has added. According to Ms Mbindu, it is not marriage that fulfils a woman. Rather, it is a fulfilled woman who transforms her marriage. She has pointed out that African cultures seem to measure a woman’s success by the presence of a wedding ring on her finger.
But behind the dream of marriage hide silent realities such as frustration, loss of identity, painful sacrifices, and a fragile balance between career, motherhood, spiritual life, ambitions, and other aspects of life. For his part, Jordan Senga, representative of the Gold Book publishing house, has congratulated the writer in his speech and encouraged her to continue in this vein with further publications. Ms Yolande Mbindu Tshefa is the head of the company ‘les Delices de Yoyo’ and is active in the Christian ministry, where she provides spiritual guidance to many young women, entrepreneurs, professionals, speakers and mentors. She firmly believes that every woman can flourish in all areas of her life, on condition that she enters them prepared, anchored and balanced. CPA/
