Kinshasa, Sept 2nd, 2025 (CPA). – The Association of Football Leaders in the Democratic Republic of Congo (ADFCO), has invited, on Tuesday, during a conference, the main players in this discipline in the country, on Thursday, at the Tata Raphael stadium in Kinshasa, to reflect on the current situation, with a view to reach a common solution.
‘On behalf of ADFCO, we are calling on all the main players in national football, apart from those from Fecofa, to gather at the Tata Raphael stadium in Kinshasa on Thursday, to reflect on the situation currently plaguing our game and to propose a solution,’ has declared Lambert Osango, president of the Association of Congolese Football Leaders. With this call in mind, the speaker has clarified the agenda for Thursday’s gathering of these invited players: ‘Two points have been retained on our agenda, namely: the electoral process in DRC and the situation of its representatives in Caf interclub competitions, whose registration system remains blocked for them, but open to other teams from the continent’, he has explained.
« This is in the national interest, and no one can remain indifferent or insensitive, especially as it is in the common interest and to the honour of the country. And Lambert Osango went on to say that if the electoral process at the Congolese Federation of Association Football (Fecofa) has ground to a halt, the fault lies with the first committee of the Conor, headed by Dieudonne Sambi. He is the author of the confusion, and has distinguished himself by organising elections that have been cancelled many times, for a variety of reasons, due to cheating, the ins and outs of which are known by this team and never by the main football players that they are », he has indicated. In the same vein, the ADFCO secretary Guy Mafuta Kabongo has added that everything that goes on reveals invisible and harmful sources that feed Caf with false information about DRC. Thus, according to the ADFCO, it is clear from this dossier that the main concerns of the members of the Normalisation Committee (Conor) of the Congolese Federation of Association Football (Fecofa) are more those of remaining in office, than any other concern, to organise and bring the electoral process to a successful conclusion.
‘As football actors in DRC, we have realised that the main concern of the former team headed by Dieudonne Sambi, with no regard for the development of football in DRC, is to remain in office for as long as possible, at the head of the Conor of Fecofa,‘ has declared Lambert Osango, No. 1 of the ADFCO. With regard to the current gangrene in football in the country and Thursday’s meeting, it was announced that, in the absence of all the heads of the provincial leagues in Kinshasa, the head of the Kinshasa League (Lifkin), Desire Bonina, will be more than important to them. What happens next will depend on the conclusions that emerge from Thursday’s meeting, which will be used to make the case to the higher authorities concerned. CPA/
