*Kinshasa, October 27th, 2025 (CPA) – Congolese entrepreneurs were called upon on Monday to be bold in their business ventures during the launch of a book on entrepreneurship entitled ‘Dreams in Action: The Audacity to Be an Entrepreneur in the DRC’, held in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). « In this book, I call on Congolese entrepreneurs to dream in action and to be bold in their entrepreneurship. As they read it, they will explore the foundations of a realistic entrepreneurial approach, rooted in Congolese soil. Each chapter is a tool, each method a compass. But beyond the techniques, there is a call: to build with meaning, courage and awareness, » said Nelly Katshelewa, author and entrepreneur in the agri-food sector. « I wanted to share my professional journey, my thoughts and practical strategies for daring to be an entrepreneur in the DRC, despite the challenges. Daring to face complexity without losing sight of the vision. Daring to reject intellectual shortcuts without betraying one’s values. Daring to dream big, while moving forward step by step, with method and strategy, » she added.
According to the author, entrepreneurship in the DRC is not about copying a model from elsewhere, but about inventing a path where everything seems fluid, sometimes uncertain and unstable. ‘It is in this context,’ she said, ‘that the most resilient, ingenious and visionary entrepreneurs are born.’ She pointed out that entrepreneurs do not need to master everything before they start, but above all they must dare. Having been involved in supporting young people for several years, she firmly believes that entrepreneurship is a powerful lever for change and development in the DRC. Founder of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Congo (AJE), an organization created in 2020, she now has five years of experience in coaching, training and promoting entrepreneurial talent across the country. With a master’s degree in organizational communication and marketing, she currently heads the AJE, where she transforms agricultural products into various consumable derivatives. In her book, ‘Des rêves en action’ (Dreams in Action), Nelly Katshelewa shares her journey, her thoughts and practical strategies for daring to be an entrepreneur in the DRC, despite the challenges, with the support of Cuso International.
