Kinshasa, August 5th 2026 (CPA).- An inclusive dialogue was described on Wednesday as a genuine forum for listening, participation and collective action by a civil society representative, during a conference held in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
“Dialogue must not be seen as merely a political issue between a few players. It must be a genuine forum for listening, participation and collective action, where every Congolese man and woman can see themselves reflected,” has declared Jonas Tshiombela, deputy coordinator of the Secular Civil Society Coalition. According to him, the country needs a dialogue that tackles the root causes of the crises and draws lessons from past experiences. This civil society representative called for a truly inclusive dialogue, involving all sections of the nation.
He has also called on civil society to preserve its independence and strengthen its commitment to serving the public interest.
“No citizen should remain indifferent. The future of DRC also depends on our daily commitment, our sense of duty and our determination to build a country of peace, justice and prosperity. I would like this conference to serve as a starting point. We must continue this work to raise awareness in our neighbourhoods so that every citizen can participate in building our shared future,’ he has suggested.
