Press release from the National Road Safety Commission (CNPR)

“This campaign aims to strengthen compliance with the Highway Code and improve road safety. This operation is being carried out on the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Transport, Communications and Accessibility, Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo,” the document has specified. According to the source, this control campaign is part of a drive to regulate the road transport sector and combat irregularities relating to driving documents. The aim is to encourage drivers to comply with legal requirements regarding road traffic. The CNPR is therefore calling on all drivers and road users concerned to carry their valid biometric driving licences with chips and to cooperate with the officers carrying out this operation. “Any driver not in possession of a valid biometric driving licence with a chip will find his vehicle immobilised and, where necessary, driven to the impound,” the statement has informed.
