Kinshasa, February 24th, 2026 (CPA) – An unprecedented magazine dedicated to African culture was presented on Tuesday in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as a tool for cultural diplomacy between the country and India, during the official handover of the magazine to the Indian embassy. “We presented this unique magazine dedicated to African hairstyles, as it serves as a vibrant summary of the key moments that marked our participation in the ‘Surajkund International Craft Mela’ 39th edition,” declared Princess Lunsadisa, coordinator of the NGO “Mwasi uzuar’art.”
“It is the largest international festival of art and craftsmanship, and through its pages, it reflects on cultural exchanges and demonstrations of know-how, including the exceptional welcome reserved for the Congolese delegation,” she added.
Ms. Lunsadisa, also known as the “ambassador of traditional African hairstyles,” stated that this project aims to promote Congolese heritage, strengthen dialogue between cultures, and promote international cultural diplomacy. For his part, Prince Nzala, structure manager, noted that the handover of the magazine represents an important milestone for “Mwasi uzuar’art,” which is also a cultural center. Bénédicte Yeleza, a speaker, argued that a stylist within a cultural mission is not merely an aesthetic companion; they embody know-how, creativity, and the enhancement of identity through appearance and style. Furthermore, she demonstrated that Congolese culture can engage with the world not only through art but also through cultural diplomacy. This project is not an end but the beginning of recognizing Congolese cultural potential on the international stage, she concluded.
