Kinshasa: Universities called upon to promote the communication for the country’s development

Kinshasa, November 10th, 2025 (CPA).- The Congolese universities have been called upon on Monday to promote the communication for the country’s development during the first day of the first Festival of the book of the inspired hill (Felico) organised at the University of Kinshasa, in the centre of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). ‘We are universities, we are a solution, but it starts with communication. It is also in the arts. It is communication that allows us to believe that we can make our contribution, the one that is most eagerly awaited by the population, which aspires to one thing: development and progress,’ has declared Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, rector of the University of Kinshasa. According to him, today, on the day of the first book festival on the hill, if someone with bad intentions wants to hide money somewhere, they should put it in this festival. « This is precisely to show that we have gone beyond a completely serious unilateral declaration. One must believe that there is a little racism in saying that books have no place in the eyes of others. They also count, » he has added. He has explained that we are very happy, Mr President Bahati Lukwebo, that you are with us today. As I said earlier, you are always there to answer any questions relating to the Internet and higher education. That is because I believe you have faith in the young people who are watching. « I have just shown you the promotion room in its current state, which is also very moving. I have just given you a little tease, and I know that before long, we will be able to hand over this graduation hall to the city, to all of you who are here with us, the men of letters, the men of books. Welcome to this scientific morning that is beginning today. Thank you, » he has concluded.  CPA/
