Kinshasa, March 11th, 2026 (CPA).- Three million US dollars (USD 3,000,000) to clear salary arrears for employees and managers of the Transport in Congo (Transco) Company in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, have been promised to this public institution by the Minister in charge of Finance, according to a statement consulted on Wednesday by CPA. ‘The General Direction of the public institution Transports in Congo (Transco) informs employees and executives that the government of the Republic, through the Minister in charge of Finance Doudou Fwamba Likunde, had made a firm promise to the out-going committee to grant USD 3,000,000 (three million US dollars) to clear salary arrears,’ it is read in the Transco document.
‘However, to date, our accounts have not yet been credited. Transco is counting on the promptness and support of His Excellency the Minister in charge of Finance to ensure the successful fulfilment of this government promise in order to preserve peace among employees and managers,’ the statement has added. Pending the outcome of this matter, the source has continued, Transco’s General Direction has urged its staff not to give in to misinformation, before assuring them that it is making every effort to ensure the effectiveness of this government promise. ‘All efforts are being made to ensure that this problem is resolved within a reasonable time frame,’ the source has emphasised.
The Transco document has also reported on the first meeting of the board of directors, during which Chairman Jean Claude Ndumbi Kalala has expressed his confidence and reassurance that his collaboration with the team led by Kibulu Matondo Jeremie would bear the expected fruit, both for the company’s employees and for the recovery of this public transport institution. ‘This quarterly meeting allowed Transco’s governing body and the new management team to get to know each other and discuss the institution’s priorities,’ the statement concluded.
