Kongo Central : part of the town of Muanda in the dark

Muanda, November 26th, 2025 (CPA). – A large part of the coastal town of Muanda, in the province of Kongo Central, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is currently without electricity following a technical breakdown, CPA has noticed on Wednesday.  « We have a small problem at our power station. The G31 unit, which supplies the three cabins in the city, has broken down. A report has already been sent to our hierarchy and the work is underway,‘ has indicated to CPA, Steve Tekadiomona Landu, head of the Sales and Services Centre (CVS) of the National Electricity Company (SNEL) in Muanda, ’Electricity will be restored soon. We apologise to our customers », he has assured.

This situation has arisen in a context of persistent insecurity in certain areas of the Muanda territory, where isolated cases of criminal banditry have been reported, and making night-time traffic risky in the absence of public lighting.
