Midterm in the United States: ‘The war with Iran must end’ (US Senate Democratic Leader)

Kinshasa, November 4th, 2026 (CPA). – The Democratic leader in the US Senate has affirmed on Wednesday that the war in Iran must “end”, in the wake of the Republicans’ crushing defeat in the mid-term elections, the international media have reported. “The American people do not know why we are fighting in Iran. He (Donald Trump) has never made things clear. He changes his mind from one day to the next, or even from one minute to the next. This war must come to an end,” Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader in the US Senate has declared. Furthermore, Chuck Schumer has indicated that one way to deter a president who goes to war without the consent of the American people is to “limit his budgetary authority”. Mr Schumer has also assured that the Democrats would take steps to impose a budget on Donald Trump. “With or without the President, we will do our best to reduce costs, full stop,”the Democratic leader in the US Senate has warned. He has argued that Mr Trump has repeatedly changed his stance on the ‘mission’ of the war against Iran and made it clear that the Democrats will use all channels within Congress to address the use of Trump’s powers. ‘The time when the Senate was treated as if it were begging Trump is over,’ he has insisted. However, the Democratic leader has noted that the American people had clearly received the electoral message regarding the economy, and would take serious action on this issue as soon as the new Congress takes office. It is worth noting that in the US mid-term elections, the Democrats have won a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
