Morocco – Mexico: strengthening economic and trade relations

Kinshasa, September 21^st, 2025 (CPA/MAP). – The president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has announced in a statement a high-level economic mission to Mexico from September 22^nd to 25^th, 2025 to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries, the Moroccan Press Agency has reported on Sunday. ‘This visit, organised in coordination with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Mexico, aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries and explore new opportunities for investment and partnership in areas of mutual interest,’ the source has indicated. The programme for this mission includes institutional and economic meetings, notably with the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (CONCAMIN), the Entrepreneurial Coordination Council (CCE), and members of the Mexican government, the statement has explained. B2B meetings and trips to industrial cities such as Puebla and Guadalajara are also on the agenda, the same source has added. According to the source, CGEM President Chakib Alj, who is leading the delegation, has said, ‘The areas of common interest between Morocco and Mexico are many and varied. The two countries share the same ambitions in industry, agri-food, tourism, renewable energies and technological innovation.’ « Morocco, which has experienced remarkable growth in recent years under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is now the leading automobile producer in Africa, the continent’s leading aeronautical hub, the second largest pharmaceutical producer and the leading African exporter of textiles to Europe, in addition to its achievements in agri-food, tourism and renewable energies, » he has said.
