Kinshasa, October 12th, 2025 (CPA).- The Congolese Olympic Committee (COC) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has announced that its extraordinary general assembly election will be held on November 14th in Kinshasa, the country’s capital, according to a statement from the sports organization received by the CPA on Sunday. ‘(…) The Congolese Olympic Committee (COC), meeting in extraordinary session, informs all its members that elections to renew their mandate will be held on Friday, 14 November 2025, in Kinshasa,’ the statement read.
According to this document dated October 10th, and signed by Alain Badiashile, secretary general of the sports body, this decision was taken following the executive committee meeting held on September 19th, where the attached electoral timetable was approved. Affiliated national sports groups and members of the executive committee are therefore invited to take all necessary steps to participate in these meetings, in accordance with Olympic values. According to the source, interested parties are requested to submit their applications and other relevant information to the General Secretariat of the COC of the DRC, which will be open for this purpose on Saturday and Sunday.
As a reminder, the current COC Executive Committee is headed by Amos Mbayo, who has been in office for several years. ACP/
