Kinshasa, March 17th, 2026 (CPA).- Compliance with procedures in public procurement management has been advocated on Tuesday by a public service manager at the opening of the first edition of the information workshop on public procurement procedures (AIPCP) in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. “This event, which is a first in the recent history of our provincial administration and which, I hope, marks the start of a long series of similar initiatives, signals the beginning of a new dynamic: that of transparency and scrupulous adherence to procedures in the management of public procurement,” has declared Naomie-Anais Mofu, Provincial Director of the Provincial Direction for the Control of Public Procurement (DPCMP). “In a country such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in a city such as ours, where public procurement procedures account for around 60% of the annual budget, it is essential that sustained attention be paid to the control and observance of the relevant procedures,” she has indicated. Ms Mofu has emphasised the central role of the Provincial Direction for Public Procurement Control (DPCMP), which focuses on the operationalization of the Project and Public Procurement Management Units, as well as on strict adherence to public procurement procedures, with the threefold aim of ensuring transparency in procedures, traceability in the use of public resources and accountability in the management of public projects. According to her, these efforts are broadly aimed at contributing to the improvement of public procurement in the city. This involves, in particular, enhancing the quality, transparency and efficiency of procedures for the award and execution of public contracts, as well as public-private partnerships, with a view to strengthening the credibility of urban governance. Scheduled for March 17th -19th, 2026, this first edition of the information workshop on public procurement procedures in the city of Kinshasa is centred on the theme: “Making public procurement more reliable: a strategic lever for enhancing the credibility of governance in the city of Kinshasa”.
