Tshopo: Provincial executive members urged to get to work

Kisangani, March 17th, 2026 (CPA).- The new provincial ministers were urged to get down to work by the provincial authorities during their swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday in Kisangani, the chief town of Tshopo in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“The Lendongolia II government is now fully in place. It is now up to them to do better than Lendongolia I. I urge all the newly appointed ministers to get down to work with determination, so that change is visible and the population can truly rejoice in the actions we will take within this government,” has said Didier Lomoyo, Deputy Governor of Tshopo.

He has also encouraged them to commit fully to their duties and to unite around Governor Paulin Lendongolia’s “Tshopo-Mosala” vision, in line with that of Head of State Felix Tshisekedi, with a view to building a prosperous Congo founded on peace, national unity and work. For his part, the new Provincial Minister in charge of Infrastructure, Patrick Asumani, has expressed his profound gratitude to the governor for the renewed trust shown in him through his reappointment to the provincial executive. He has pledged his full support for the provincial government’s efforts, working in tandem with the central government, to bring the ‘Tshopo-Mosala’ vision to fruition and to promote the development of the entire province, extending beyond the city of Kisangani alone. The Minister has also promised to ensure the effective execution of the works and compliance with quality standards, so that the population can tangibly feel the progress across the whole of Tshopo. On February 20th, 2026, the provincial governor had signed two decrees appointing the members of the provincial government and the executive secretariat. ACP/
