Kinshasa, June 8th, 2026 (CPA).- Congolese singer Fally Ipupa’s dedication of his national distinction to the restoration of peace in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) was the highlight of his speech during his elevation to the rank of Knight of the National Order of the Leopard, according to a cultural operator contacted on Monday by CPA. “Fally Ipupa is known for his reserved stance on political issues. In this context, his decision to devote part of his speech to the situation in the eastern part of the country stands out as one of its most significant aspects. Without entering into political discourse, he addressed a national concern that goes beyond the artistic sphere,” said cultural operator Liévin Kalubi.
“I particularly dedicate this honor bestowed upon me to the return of peace in the eastern part of the country,” the artist declared during the ceremony held at the African Union City.
According to the analyst, the statement deserves particular attention as it introduced, within the framework of an official protocol ceremony, a reference to an issue of national interest. He noted that the call for peace was the speech’s most distinctive element, especially in a context where recipients’ remarks are generally limited to institutional expressions of gratitude.
