The Congolese diaspora appreciates the quality of chikwangues made in the DRC

Kinshasa, June 15th, 2025 (ACP). – The quality of chikwangues made in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), an iconic product crafted by Congolese artisans, is appreciated by the Congolese diaspora in France and other European countries, an entrepreneur said in an interview on Sunday. ‘The members of the diaspora in France are delighted with the quality of chikwangues made by Congolese people from the DRC,’ has declared Clementine Ibih, entrepreneur and chikwangues seller.  ‘I am proud to be recognised for my chikwangues business in Emmanuel Macron’s country,’ she added enthusiastically. The chikwangues we sell are purchased at the Kinkole market in the municipality of N’sele and at the Luza market in the municipality of Limete in Kinshasa. I really enjoy my work because it allows me to support myself, educate my children and feed my family, » has explained Clementine Ibih. She has asked the Congolese authorities to support entrepreneurs in promoting Congolese products on the international market, particularly chikwangue.  She has 15 years of experience in selling chikwangues to members of the diaspora in France. In addition to regular shipments, she also organises sales during festivals and cultural events, and her chikwangues are available in several restaurants, which helps to promote this culinary speciality. ‘I invite Congolese people to consume “organic” products to avoid importing,’ she has continued. Clementine also aspires to expand her distribution to other countries so that the world can discover the wonders of chikwangues made by Congolese artisans. The commitment and the dedication of entrepreneurs like Clementine Ibih demonstrate the economic potential of the Congo and the importance of supporting local products on the international stage.
