During this visit, Kinshasa has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen cooperation with Spain,” it is read in the press release from the Provincial Ministry in charge of Tourism.
According to the statement, this visit has enabled the Provincial Minister in charge of Tourism to reaffirm the willingness of the Kinshasa Provincial Government, under the leadership of Governor Daniel Bumba, to consolidate cooperative relations between the Congolese capital and the Kingdom of Spain in several areas. According to the same source, the discussions have focused in particular on Kinshasa’s potential as a tourist destination and the prospects for collaboration with Madrid, which hosts the FITUR (Feria Internacional de Turismo) every year, one of the major international events in the tourism sector.
“This prospect opens up opportunities to promote Kinshasa as a destination and to showcase its cultural and tourist assets,” the document has added. The press release stated that Jesus-Noel Sheke and Maria Angeles have also discussed the investment opportunities offered by Kinshasa in several strategic sectors, notably the digital sector, transport, infrastructure, property and agriculture. “Furthermore, the two officials have touched on the issue of establishing a Spanish centre in Kinshasa, with a view to strengthen cultural exchanges and foster closer ties between the two countries,” the text has concluded.
