Kisangani, November 11th, 2025 (CPA). – The contribution of Tshopo province to the creation of the Congolese Albinism Network (RCA) was praised on Tuesday in Kisangani, the provincial capital (north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo), by the Organization for the Wellbeing of People Living with Albinism in the DRC (Obeac).

‘Tshopo’s contribution to the establishment of the Congolese Albinism Network (RCA) has been enormous,’ said Nathan Bafalula, coordinator of Obeac. He said that this new national platform had been created as a result of the partnership between his organization and the Pierre Fabre Foundation. ‘The financial support of the Pierre Fabre Foundation made it possible to bring together in Kinshasa for two days the various associations in the country that campaign for the rights of people living with albinism to set up this network. This activity was co-organized by Obeac and the Julio Foundation,’ he said. According to the source, as the network’s committee has not yet been formed, a commission has been set up with the task of mapping the associations dedicated to the cause of people living with albinism in order to convene the elective General Assembly. ‘We call on all organizations of people living with albinism to join us in combining our strengths so that we can speak with one voice on the issues that concern us all,’ said Mr. Bafalula. As for public and private, national and international partners, the OBEAC coordinator called on them to work together to promote the rights of people with albinism, which have been tarnished by society.
