Kinshasa, July 27th 2026 (CPA).- An award called the “Exceptional Women’s Excellence” Award was presented on Monday in Kinshasa, the capital of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to the chairwoman of the board of directors of “Dignité Humaine Asbl” for her advocacy, particularly in promoting women’s rights.
“On Monday, July 26th , 2026, the Congo Na Biso Group officially awarded a Grand Prize for Excellence to the Chair of the Board of Directors of Dignité Humaine Asbl, Ms. Elodie Ntamuzinda, for her advocacy—particularly for human dignity—and in recognition of her commitment to good governance, the promotion of women’s rights, peace, and the development of DRC, which justifies this decision,” has stated Princess Nzangi, Secretary General of the “Congo Na Biso Group.” Ms. Nzangi highlighted the laureate’s contributions in the areas of governance, gender, peacebuilding, and electoral processes (SADC), as well as her work as a full member of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI). She also highlighted the laureate’s major role as coordinator of the organization “Dignité Humaine,” which is committed to the fight against sexual and gender-based violence.
“Ms. Ntamuzinda advocated for a collective effort by authorities, community leaders, and health professionals to protect victims and improve their care,” has said the secretary-general of “Groupe Congo na Biso.” Referring to her international influence, she noted the former president of South Kivu’s civil society organization’s participation in the “AGOA” Forum in Washington in 2024, where she championed women’s leadership as a key driver of development, adding that this award honors a woman whose professionalism, integrity, and determination inspire an entire generation of Congolese.
Women Encouraged to Work for the Well-Being of Society
Furthermore, Ms. Ntamuzinda, winner of the Grand “Award of Excellence for Exceptional Women,” encouraged all women who work behind the scenes—whose voices are not always heard at the highest levels—never to give up and to continue working for the well-being of our society. “I am very flattered and deeply moved by this recognition. I sincerely thank the Congo na Biso Group for thinking of me. There are many people who are accomplishing great things in our country, but you chose to reach out to me. This means a great deal to me. Once again, thank you for this trust and this honor,” she has said. For Dieudonné Amuri, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Congo Na Biso,” this award aims to recognize these efforts and, above all, to tell the inspiring story of an exceptional and unique woman in a new light. “Recognizing merit is a way to encourage excellence and inspire future generations.” The Grand Prix d’Excellence is an ambitious initiative designed to honor Congolese individuals who excel in their respective fields, according to the organizers.
