Kinshasa, July 14th, 2025, (CPA).- The consequences of artificial intelligence (AI) were the subject of a training session organized on Monday for members of an association based in N’djili, in the east of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), during a weekly meeting. ‘We are gathered here today to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence, which is currently in vogue in humanity and in people’s lives,’ said Lambrish Munampova, president of the Youth Assembly for Sustainable Development (Ragedec). « On the plus side, there’s task automation, speed, efficient research, and full-time availability. But on the downside, there’s job loss, meaning that instead of hiring several people, AI can do the work of several people on its own, not to mention the dependence on technology, » he explained. This youth mentor urged the audience not to neglect the work of the human brain in analyzing the solutions generated by AI. ‘Use these tools, but don’t neglect the human aspect of working with the brain, because nothing can replace humans. That’s why everything must be analyzed and approved with human intelligence,’ added Mr Munampova. It has been proven that artificial intelligence promises enormous benefits but also carries real risks. Experts point the risks and harms to individuals and societies related to the security and sustainability of knowledge generated by AI.
