Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo and a delegation from the World Bankvisit Kimwenza ravine

Kinshasa, March 26th, 2021 (CPA).-The Archbishop of Kinshasa, Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo Besungu, accompanied by the Director representing the World Bank in DRC, Jean-Christophe Carret, visited, on Wednesday, for his second consecutive time in three months, Kimwenza ravine dug by weathering heads, in Mont Ngafula urban-rural municipality, indicates a press release from the Archdiocese of Kinshasa submitted to CPA on Thursday.

The cardinal expressed all his compassion, before conveying a message of hope to the population: “I am hopeful that our visit today with the representative of the World Bank will be able to constitute a beginning for a long study and at the end along the way, we hope that Kimwenza will finally be linked to Kinshasa”, he said. For his part, the country director of the World Bank in DRC reassured that this visit would make it possible to finance serious studies which will lead to technical solutions so that the situation is gradually settled.

The parish priest of St. Mary of Kimwenza, Father Michel Lobunda Selemani, felt that it was urgent to stop the progression of thiserosion because, with each downpour there are tears, lamentations, as well as material damage to the population of Kimwenza and Kindele. ACP/Kayu/JFM
