Kinshasa, May 23th, 2021 (CPA).– The regional director of the multisectoral office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for Central Africa, Salah Khaled, during the discussions views Friday, May 21 in Kinshasa, with the Minister of State, Minister of Planning, Christian Mwando Nsimba Kabulo, indicated that the publication, by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), of statistical school yearbooks for the years 2018,02019 and 2020 , allow it to be eligible for funding that is already available from UNESCO. For Mr. Khaled, these statistical school yearbooks will allow better planning and reform of the education sector, « There is no planning without reliable data, » he said. He also stressed that UNESCO is working closely with the government of the DRC on the quality of education, in terms of teacher training which is a priority given that they form the central pillar of any education system, as well as the need to focus on technical training in general, in order to give the alternative opportunity to young people who need skills, training tools, in order to find employability and entrepreneurship opportunities. in several domains. Mr. Khaled took the opportunity to share with Minister of State Mwando the results of his mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and his discussions with the ministers of primary, secondary and technical education (EPST), higher and university education (ESU) as well as vocational and technical training.
