Arrival in Kinshasa of the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs

Kinshasa, March 18th, 2021 (CPA).- Egyptian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Mostafa arrived in Kinshasa on Tuesday on a special flight from Cairo to Egypt for an official mission in DRC.

At the head of a large delegation of Egyptian officials including the Minister of Internal Security, the head of Egyptian diplomacy would bring a message from the President of the Egyptian Republic to his Congolese counterpart Felix Antoine Tshisekedi who currently holds the rotating presidency of the African Union.

On an official visit to Egypt last February, Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi signed cooperation contracts in several areas, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, energy and water treatment.

He had concluded a contract for the construction of « Tshipuka photovoltaic plant (outskirts of Kinshasa) with a capacity of 10 Megawatts, the development of Mbuji-Mayi-Kananga toll road (center), 185 kilometers long, the construction of Ndomba port (west) and the establishment of a water treatment plant on Lubi River in Sankuru (center)”.

Two other projects were also concluded, namely, the installation of optical fiber throughout the territory and the construction of Kitoko, an extension of Kinshasa capital. ACP / Kayu / KJI
