Prime Minister Sama Lukonde arrived in Beni on Monday

Beni, August 24th, 2021 (CPA).- Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, arrived in Beni, North Kivu on Monday, after the Bunia stopover, in Ituri, to assess the implementation of the state of siege decreed in this part of the country by the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, and to console its population.

This visit is also of a humanitarian nature for the population victims of insecurity in North Kivu.

The Beni stage comes after that of Bunia, where Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde reviewed, with the active forces of the province, the elected representatives of the people and representatives of MONUSCO, the security situation under the state of siege.

The head of government indicated, on this occasion, that his mission in the capital of Ituri has two (2) objectives, namely, to follow up on the decisions taken following the state of siege, during the visit of the Head of State in June 2021, the second being of a humanitarian nature.

He also reassured that his presence is an eloquent testimony of the solidarity of the government of the Republic to the population and, in particular, to the internally displaced persons who live in the sites and host families, it is recalled.

A strong team of members of the central government accompanies the Prime Minister, in Beni, in this important mission with similar objectives. ACP/
