Prof. Noël Tshiani supports the Head of State in the search for the establishment of peace in eastern DRC

Kinshasa, May 23^th, 2021 (CPA).- The president of the political party Force for Change (FDC), Prof. Noël Tshiani Muadiamvita, supports the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo, in the quest for the establishment of peace and security in the East, in particular throughout the DRC, in general, in order to gain an advantage on the African continent market. Prof. Tshiani said it during the 2021 Economic Forum, organized on Saturday by the Faculty of Economics and Management (FASEG), at Reverend Kim University, in the commune of Lingwaka, under the theme: « The impact of the entry of the DRC into the continental free trade zone: constraints and prospects ”. For him, this area is very large and will literally cover 54 African countries with the exception of one country that has not yet ratified, namely Eritrea. He compared the DRC, which has a population of around 100 million inhabitants and the African market which has 1,400,000,000 (one billion four hundred million), which, according to him, explains the need for the DRC to the right things to make the investments in the country profitable. He further argued that if a company invests and produces in the DRC, it will not sell its products to 100 million people but rather expand them to the 1.4 billion four hundred million. Asked if the DRC is prepared to take the advantage of this market at the continental level, Noël Tshiani said that the country still has many challenges to overcome to be competitive in the market, including the restoration of peace. and security throughout the national territory, justifying that no investor can be interested in a market where there are conflicts. “Another challenge is basic infrastructure citing the lack of water, electricity, telecommunications services, roads, ports and modern airports, which he says must be fought for in the first place for to connect the Congolese provinces ”, he wished. He, secondly, indicated that the absence of roads fragments the internal market, affirming that if the country manages to meet this obligation, it will connect with neighboring countries and it will thus be part of this free zone. continent-wide exchange. « There are therefore many constraints that we must remove in order to be a competitive economy, if we do not have the ambition to simply become a consumer market for products from elsewhere, » he insisted. He added that to create jobs for the Congolese people, the country must have the ambition to diversify and industrialize its economy in order to produce and export to other African countries. ACP/
