The DRC confident in taking up the challenge of reversing values

Kinshasa, April 5th, 2021 (CPA).– The director general of the Observatory for the monitoring of corruption and professional ethics (OSCEP), Saint Augustin Mwendambali, indicated that all hopes are allowed to meet the challenge of the inversion of values in the DRC with the return ethics in the management of public affairs, following discussions he had on Friday at the Government House with Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde. « If the social remains a concern of the National Executive, it is also an axis of the component of the Head of State’s vision. But, there can be no social when the flow of revenue works, when individuals sell off the common good of the Republic and when everyone comes to the Government with the hope of getting rich, ”he said. said, adding that the Congolese man has lost confidence in himself. He only sees anti-values as crutches. “It can’t go on. We have to put ethics in its place, ”said the OSCEP Director General. Referring to the adage which says that: « a State without ethics is compared to a body without life », Prof. Saint Augustin Mwendambali believes that this is valid for a company which, if it does not put ethics at the center of its production will be doomed to failure.

To achieve this, he argued, actors should have a common understanding of this phenomenon which is too neglected by the Congolese people. « What is this country that can be built with the style of predation where we have to tear everything away, » he asked himself, maintaining that the leitmotif of President Félix Tshisekedi: « the people first, it’s a whole program, a whole ideology. The people first means there was a time when the people were not considered. Now, the Head of State wants to correct the gap that has characterized our country by introducing new data to give importance to the place of the people « . ACP/
