The National Council of Independent Churches United for Peace determined to support the Head of State

Kinshasa, May 31st, 2021 (CPA).- The National Council of Independent Churches United for Peace (CNEIUP) is determined to support the vision of the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, in the fight against anti-values , said the Secretary General of this Council, Justin Damas Miria, during a press briefing he held on Saturday, in the town of Matete.

Mr. Justin Damas Miria indicated that the CNEIUP, a platform bringing together 170 churches in the DRC, has already submitted a memorandum and specifications to the Presidency of the Republic, the National Assembly, the government as well as to the courts. and courts, containing their concerns and proposals relating to the issues of the day, with a view to reaching a consensus to consolidate lasting peace in the DRC.

In this regard, he stressed that the CNEIUP proposed some possible solutions, in particular, the general census of the Congolese population, the restoration of the rule of law and the re-foundation of the authority of the State through the reforms public institutions and the independence of the judiciary.

The CNEIUP, he added, also pleaded for the enlargement of the platforms of religious confessions formerly limited to 8, the recognition by an official legal text of the CNEIUP at the level of the public institutions of the State, the creation of different vocational training structures that can provide support for young people with a view to combating unemployment, poverty and juvenile delinquency. He also called for the granting of facilities to foreign investors by easing customs taxes and promoting the creation of businesses in order to contribute to the development and industrialization of the DRC.

CNEIUP is a well-identified platform in the civil society of the DRC, led by Bishop Samuel Faluto.
