Bukavu, June 19th, 2021 (CPA).- Four Mai-Mai rebels from the “Yakutumba” armed group were mown down by the FARDC last Monday in the mountains overlooking the city of Fizi, during the clashes.
FARDC spokesperson for Sokola 2 operations in South Kivu, Captain Dieudonné Kasereka, told the CPA desk that these Mai-Mai rebels attempted an ambush against the patrolling FARDC which turned against them.
Captain Kasereka clarified that in an exchange of fire, another Mai-Mai was captured, 10 vanished into the bush with wounds, while a loyalist army soldier was wounded, his days are gone. not in danger.
He urged the rebels still in the bush to lay down their arms, following the call of the supreme commander of the FARDC to make peace and development. ACP/
