Lubumbashi, May 28, 2021 (ACP).- The workers of the Kipoi Exploitation Company (SEK) SA located in the territory of Kipushi, Haut-Katanga province, keep their jobs and will receive the five months of salary arrears until then thanks to the involvement of the Provincial Assembly chaired by Antoine Gabriel Kyungu wa Kumwanza.

Provincial deputy Thomas Lupata Mudimbi, rapporteur for this deliberative body, who said so, suggested that this satisfactory result is the result of talks initiated by the office for the resolution of this file.

He expressed the satisfaction of this institution for having found a favorable outcome to the demands of these executives and agents of SEK SA, a provision that fits with the vision of the Head of State, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, to place the people in center. The Union, José Mumba, for his part, praised the visionary sense of the President of the Provincial Assembly who campaigned for the consideration of workers’ problems. These employees, estimated at more than two hundred, recently filed a memo at the office of the Provincial Assembly in which they requested the payment of salary arrears as well as the preservation of employment since the company was in the liquidation procedure.
