Kasaï Central: return to calm in Mutanga Dibala in the territory of Dimbelenge

Kananga, June 12th, 2021 (CPA).- Calm has returned to the village of Mutanga Dibala, near Lake Fwa in the locality of Bana Ba Ntumba, Lubi sector, in the territory of Dimbelenge, in the aftermath of a conflict of lands opposing the inhabitants of the Bakwa Tshiya and Bakwa Mayi groups.

Most of the inhabitants of this still deserted village live in the bush, many of them having taken refuge in Mulowayi in the neighboring territory of Kabeya Kamuanga, in Kasai Oriental.

This bloody confrontation without the death of men caused a fire in inhabited huts and the loss of many valuable goods, the nature of which was not specified to the press.

The deployment of the Congolese National Police (PNC) to the places of conflict made it possible to arrest the alleged perpetrators of these acts while awaiting their referral to the competent judicial authorities. ACP/
