South Kivu: DR Congo Red Cross volunteers in training on emergency response in Kamituga

Bukavu, July 24th, 2021 (CPA).- The volunteers of the DRC Red Cross have been in training since Thursday on disaster prevention and emergency response to natural disasters in Kamituga, in the territory of Mwenga, one of the administrative entities of the province of South Kivu.

This five-day training is provided by a South Kivu Red Cross team from the city of Bukavu.

The communications officer at the Red Cross / South Kivu, John Kashinzwe, said that the objective is to strengthen the capacities of the volunteers of the humanitarian structure and equip them with regard to first aid intervention during natural disasters. .

Participants learn how to raise awareness among the population, in particular the behavior to be taken before, during and after the earthquake but also the barrier measures, especially during this period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
