The young people of the region have taken over this road, digging holes and erecting barricades with the consequence of interrupting the traffic of rolling vehicles.

On the banners brandished by the demonstrators, one could notably read messages of appeal to the provincial authority for the relaunch of work on this section which gives access to the gateway to the country, especially large tonnage machines. from neighboring Rwanda and East Africa.

the demonstrators castigate the fact that the rehabilitation works of this road axis of 2.7 km, have drawn in length for more than 6 years despite the strategic dimension of this road axis.

The execution of the work had been entrusted to the company Groupe Rubuye as part of the public private partnership concluded between the provincial government and economic operators in the petroleum sector, it should be noted. ACP/
