Covid-19: Senator She Okitundu calls on the Congolese population to be vaccinated

Kinshasa, July 10th, 2021 (CPA).- Senator Léonard She Okitundu called Thursday in Kinshasa, at the end of the hearing granted to him by the Minister of Public Health, Hygiene and Prevention, Dr Jean-Jacques Mbungani, the Congolese population to be vaccinated to fight against Covid-19 in the DRC.

This exchange between the two political figures focused mainly on health policy in the DRC, especially at this time when the country is living under the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic. And some countries have placed the DRC in the red zone.

According to Senator She Okitundu, there are two remedies for Covid-19, namely barrier measures and vaccination. We must convince the population to be vaccinated because barrier gestures are not enough. « I am reassured because the Minister of Health has decided to use pedagogy to try to convince not only the authorities, but also the population as a whole by calling on opinion leaders to relay his message », he said Senator Okitundu.

He said that Minister Mbungani reassured about a vaccine strategy that will be implemented in the DRC to allow this country to face the various mutants of the coronavirus. And that in the safest way possible.

“Being a parliamentarian, I wanted to know how the minister intends to strengthen the general referral hospitals in the provinces, in particular by deploying not only drugs, but also medical equipment. In this regard, the minister promised to comply, ”he said. ACP/
