Kinshasa, August 19th, 2025 (CPA).- The process of paying compensation for expropriations for public use, in favour of those affected by the ring road construction project in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo has been launched by the urban authority during a ceremony on Tuesday. ‘We have launched the process of paying compensation for expropriations for public use. This initiative aims to compensate those affected by the construction of ring roads in Kinshasa,’ has declared Daniel Bumba, Governor of the city of Kinshasa.
‘The first activity that we have carried out when launching this project was to ensure that everyone would be compensated and that the project was progressing well. We congratulate all the partners who are supporting this initiative,’ he has added, before specifying that this compensation process will cover all those involved in the project.
‘We are reconciling the need to be on track to deliver social projects. When this ring road is completed, it will relieve congestion on the crossroads of the city of Kinshasa and make it easier for us to get to the airport. It is a very strategic road,‘ has continued the urban authority. Mr Bumba has also taken the opportunity to urge all those affected by the project: “Rest assured. We want the city to develop, and we will ensure that social issues are managed. Since we have started in this way, everyone can be reassured that we will go to the end, » he has concluded.
