Kinshasa, October 30th, 2025 (CPA).– The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo called on Thursday for climate recommendations to be translated into concrete action at the close of the first National Climate Week held from October 26th to 30th in Kinshasa, according to a press release.
‘My recommendation is to translate these commitments into concrete actions and achieve tangible results,’ said Judith Suminwa, Prime Minister, quoted by the source. According to the press release, the Prime Minister also praised the vision of the Head of State, who has elevated the DRC to the rank of a central player in international climate debates. ‘The President’s determination to protect our environment and make our country a world leader on climate issues is felt by all,’ the source said, noting that the Head of State’s participation in COP30 in Belém, scheduled for November, illustrates this ambition.
« This project will make the DRC a world leader in nature conservation and biodiversity. Together, in solidarity and determination, let us make the DRC a model of green growth, resilience and national unity, » the statement added. For four days, the 26 provincial ministers of the DRC in charge of the environment met in Kinshasa with experts, forestry engineers, representatives of the private sector and technical and financial partners. Together, they adopted several major recommendations aimed at strengthening the country’s climate governance. The first National Climate Week brought together the state, the provinces, civil society and international partners around a common ideal. It now paves the way for more integrated coordination of public policies related to the environment, biodiversity and climate.
