Kinshasa, December 11th, 2025 (CPA).– Corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo was presented Thursday in Kinshasa by the Attorney General of the Court of Auditors as a major obstacle to development and social justice during an interview with the CPA. « Corruption remains a major obstacle to development and social justice in the DRC. All money used by public companies must be traced. Accountants must now submit their reports to the Court of Auditors at the end of each month, as required by law, » said Guy Tshipata Mulumba, Attorney General at the Court of Auditors. According to him, the mission of the Court of Auditors remains to control all expenditures made by the Congolese government and public institutions. To this end, Mr. Tshipata stated that authorizing officers are required to comply with the finance law for the proper management of public funds. “All authorizing officers, whether political or not, must comply with the Finance Act. After funding, no money can be used by an authorizing officer, let alone their financial advisor, but rather by an accountant who will be accountable to the court,” he said. However, he added, rigorous monitoring of accountants is essential to prevent abuse. Every franc spent must be justified and traced, specifying that his body must strengthen control mechanisms in order to quickly detect any anomalies. “Every act of transparency strengthens public confidence in institutions and is in line with the vision of the Head of State. Together, let us make the fight against corruption a daily priority and love our country, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),” he concluded. APC/
