DRC: Entrepreneurs presented as pillars of economic development

Kinshasa, November 3rd, 2026 (CPA).- Congolese entrepreneurs have been presented as pillars of economic development in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), during the opening of the national workshop to validate standard reference frameworks, held in Kinshasa, the CPA learned from an administrative source on Tuesday.

“These policy guidelines reflect a fundamental conviction: the economic development of our country cannot be achieved without entrepreneurs capable of turning opportunities into viable businesses and creating jobs,” said Professor Godefroy Kizaba, Director General of the National Agency for the Development of Congolese Entrepreneurship (ANADEC).

Mr. Kizaba outlined the five standard reference frameworks submitted for validation by the participants, namely those relating to entrepreneur training, support for entrepreneurs, business incubation and acceleration, Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs), as well as the business maturity stage.

“These reference frameworks cover the entire entrepreneurial journey, from training to business maturity.

They are aimed at harmonizing the practices of support organizations, improving the quality of services provided to entrepreneurs and sustainably structuring the Congolese entrepreneurial ecosystem,” he added.

Speaking in turn, Hervé Conan, Director of the French Development Agency (AFD) in the DRC, praised the presentation made by ANADEC’s Director General, who, in his view, had “clearly outlined the context of this workshop” and provided “very clear guidelines on the role ANADEC intends to play” within the entrepreneurship support ecosystem.

Expressing his pleasure at taking part in this important milestone for Congolese entrepreneurship, he set an ambitious goal: “Our objective today is to do everything possible to ensure that there are millions of millionaires in Congo,” he said.

The opening ceremony brought together representatives of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and SME Development, the Ministry of Youth, as well as technical partners and numerous stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Held under the patronage of the Minister in charge of Entrepreneurship and SME Development, Justin Kalumba Mwana Ngongo, the workshop is taking place from November 2nd to 3rd at the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, in the Limete municipality.

The official validation of the reference frameworks and the closing ceremony are scheduled for November 4th at the Rotana Kin Plaza. ACP/
