Kinshasa, July 28th, 2025 (CPA). – Female leadership was presented on Monday in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), as a requirement for development by a female politician speaking to the CPA about her book, ‘I am committed to politics.’ (I am committed to politics).
« For inclusive and sustainable development, women’s voices and perspectives are essential. Political engagement requires skills, strategy and alliances. The book ‘Je m’engage en politique’ highlights the need for female leadership, which I consider not as an option, but as a requirement for development, » said Chantal Faida Mulengabyuma, a female politician. ‘Je m’engage en politique’ is above all a rallying cry, a roadmap. One of the key messages is that every Congolese woman has the capacity to transform her community and her country. We just need to light that inner flame, » she added, before announcing that the book launch is scheduled for 9 August in Kinshasa.
Ms Faida expressed her deep desire to see her book act as a catalyst. ‘I hope this book will act as a catalyst. That it will give young women the courage to take the plunge, women already involved the strength to persevere, and Congolese society as a whole an understanding of the richness that comes from the full participation of women in governance,’ she said. ‘I hope that the book “Je m’engage en politique” will become a practical manual, a guide for future leaders, and that it will inspire a new generation of women to get involved, not for power’s sake, but for the positive change they can bring to our beloved country,’ she said. Written and published by AndiBooks, this new book by Chantal Faida Mulengabyuma is already available in bookshops in Kinshasa and Goma, as well as on Amazon. According to the programme released by the organisers, the book launch ceremony will be attended by prominent figures from the literary world.
