DRC–Jamaica: Senegal coach wishes Leopards good luck

Kinshasa, March 30th, 2016 (CPA).– The head coach of Senegal’s national team, Pape Thiaw, has sent a message of support to the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of the Congo ahead of their Tuesday match against Jamaica in Mexico, a qualifier for the World Cup, in a story posted on Instagram and consulted Monday by CPA. “Good luck to the Leopards of the DRC for the 2026 World Cup playoffs. The entire African continent is behind you. Give everything on the pitch, make your nation and Africa proud, and write history. Go DRC,” the message read. The Senegalese coach added in another video that he had supported the DRC even during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, following the 1-1 draw between the DRC and Senegal in Tangier during the second matchday of Group D, where the DRC had started with a (1-0) win against Benin, while Senegal defeated Botswana (3-0). To date, his wish is to see the DRC qualify so that Africa can have a total of 10 representatives at the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
