Kinshasa, November 5th, 2025 (CPA). – Lupopo of Lubumbashi, in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), defeated Tshikas of Mbuji-Mayi, in the center of the country, 2-1 on Wednesday at the Kibasa Maliba stadium in Lubumbashi, on the fourth day of Group A of the National Football League (Linafoot) championship. The two goals for the Cheminots were scored by John Pweto (7th) and Michaël Kimputu (90+3rd), while FC Tshikas’ only goal was scored by Emile Wa Emile (13th). It was therefore a painful victory for the Lumpas over FC Tshikas (newly promoted), who did not disappoint in this match. With this result, FC Saint Eloi Lupopo recorded their third consecutive victory, moving into second place in Group A with 9 points and a goal difference of +3, behind AS Malole de Kananga, who lead with 9 points and a goal difference of +6. As for FC Tshikas, the Mbuji-Mayi team has 3 points after 3 matches.
Manika surprises Simba (1-0)
In the other Group A match of the same competition, which took place on Wednesday at the Dominique Diur stadium in Kolwezi, CS Manika surprised AS Simba with a narrow 1-0 victory in a Kolwezi derby on the third day of the competition. The match lasted only seven minutes before being interrupted due to torrential rain in the city of Kolwezi, the provincial capital of Lualaba. It was after this rain, on a slippery pitch, that the newly promoted CS Manika managed to score their only goal of the match, sealing their first victory of the competition in three games.
