DRC: The structuring of businesses presented as a key lever for entrepreneurs

Kinshasa, April 8th,2026 (CPA). – The structuring of businesses has been presented as a key lever for entrepreneurs to build credible and sustainable businesses in the Democratic Republic of Congo, by the General Director of the Congo Entrepreneurship Guarantee Fund (Fogec), CPA has learned on Wednesday from an administrative source. “The potential alone is not enough. Many entrepreneurs have good businesses. But without proper structuring, they struggle to become credible and sustainable,” has declared Laurent Munzemba, General Director of Fogec. What makes the difference for entrepreneurs, according to him, “is not the idea (…) but the way it is organised, how it is made clear, solid and bankable. Structuring means moving from a business activity to a company.” Established on May 4th 2023, to facilitate access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Fogec aims to strengthen its support for young entrepreneurs and high-potential start-ups.
