Lubumbashi, April 8th, 2026 (CPA).- The evaluation of Japanese-funded works has been discussed at the governorate by the provincial Minister in charge of Finance with a delegation from the National Institute for Vocational Training from Kinshasa, led by the technical director in Lubumbashi (south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo), CPA has learned on Wednesday from the said ministry. “We must continue the partnership with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) because there is much greater demand with regard to training. We have noted that there is a demographic issue in Haut-Katanga; we need to update our training provision in line with the trades required by the mining sector. The discussion was about evaluating the construction work on training workshops for various trades. The works carried out are satisfactory, however, I would emphasise that the demand for vocational training remains very high in the province,” has declared Lutete Mufu, technical director of the National Institute for Vocational Training (INPP). “We are encouraged that the provincial government will support the INPP in improving its infrastructure and the training of trainers, as well as in meeting the demand from the public and businesses,” he has added. The delegation from Kinshasa is composed of one Japanese member and another from Haut-Katanga, namely Director Mukuna Mate, as part of the evaluation of the works funded by Japan, it is reminded.
