FECOFA: Mazembe wins appeal against Les Aigles du Congo in Bingi Belo case

Kinshasa, October 1st, 2026 (CPA).- TP Mazembe of Lubumbashi has won on appeal its case against Les Aigles du Congo of Kinshasa in the Bingi Belo Chadrack case in the Democratic Republic of the Congo championship, according to the decision of the Disciplinary and Litigation Committee of the Congolese Football Association (FECOFA), consulted by CPA on Thursday. “The CDC, in its decision No. 013/CDC/FECOFA issued on September 23rd, 2026, declared admissible but unfounded the appeal filed by FC Les Aigles du Congo against the LINAFOOT decision concerning the fielding of player Bingi Belo Chadrack by TP Mazembe during the match played on June 11th, 2026. Accordingly, TP Mazembe did not violate the applicable regulations,” the decision stated. The committee further stressed that FECOFA is “the only governing body authorized to certify whether or not players are registered.” In this regard, it indicated that the Federation, through correspondence issued in June 2026 concerning information about player Bingi Belo Chadrack, had confirmed that he was duly registered by TP Mazembe. Regarding the player’s sporting identity, which was also contested by FC Les Aigles du Congo, the CDC noted that the various documents submitted by the parties clearly state the name Bingi Belo Chadrack. The committee nevertheless found a discrepancy concerning the player’s year of birth, with some documents indicating 2003, 2005 or 2007. It considered this discrepancy to be a “clerical error” with no bearing on the player’s eligibility for TP Mazembe, which holds a FIFA Connect license for the player concerned. Following its examination of the case, the FECOFA CDC therefore upheld the decision initially challenged before LINAFOOT, thereby rejecting the arguments put forward by FC Les Aigles du Congo.
