Haut-Katanga: Congo’s potential at the heart of economic transformation strategies

Lubumbashi, September 17th, 2026 (CPA).– The potential of DRC will be at the heart of strategies for economic transformation and the promotion of local production in Lubumbashi (in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo) during the second edition of the ‘Made in DRC & Services’ Expo, scheduled for October 16th and 17th, 2026, the organisers told the CPA on Thursday.

This second edition of the ‘Made in DRC & Services’ Expo will be dedicated to the potential of DRC and to concrete strategies for transforming it into an economic powerhouse, as well as to promoting local production,” has announced Trésor Nyembo, Provincial Director of the National Chamber of Commerce and Economy of DRC and chair of the event’s organising committee. Held under the theme “The Congolese potential: strategies for transforming the country into an economic powerhouse and promoting local production”, this second edition aims, in particular, to offer participants greater visibility amongst a qualified audience, direct access to investors and decision-makers, as well as opportunities for strategic partnerships.

According to Mr Nyembo, the event also aims to boost media and institutional exposure for businesses and to further promote locally produced goods and services. “We want to make this event a platform for promoting Congolese products and services, by bringing together business operators, investors and decision-makers to discuss the opportunities offered by local production,” he has explained. Organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Trade in collaboration with the Ministry in charge of Industry, Entrepreneurship and the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. cpa
