Kinshasa, October 30th, 2025 (CPA).– On Thursday, the Kinshasa-Gombe Garrison Military Court ordered a visit to the Rawbank Victoire branch, the crime scene in the military prosecutor’s case against an alleged perpetrator of a robbery, during the audience at Camp Lufungula in the centre of the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). « The court orders a raid on Tuesday, 4 November, at the Rawbank Victoire branch. It will be a very small team of thirteen people. We will check the locations shown in the videos and identify the soldiers and police officers who were holding the bag. We must follow the money trail.
Cashier Bénédicte Tshioba and the manager must be present, as well as the two other cashiers who were working alongside Bénédicte, » said Major Magistrate Freddy Eume, president of the court. During the hearing, Mr Andy Tshibwabwa, manager of the Rawbank Victoire branch, claimed to have seen the alleged robber, Honorine Porsche, emerge from her hiding place in the water tanks without the bag containing the money or the fake weapon. For his part, Mr Charles Mushizi, lawyer for the civil party Rawbank, informed the court that he had a hard drive containing thirty-six images of sequences that could provide answers to the court’s questions, in particular about the people who allegedly threw away the empty bag belonging to Honorine Porsche, the alleged perpetrator of the robbery. ‘Your Honor, you will see thirty-six images on this hard drive that contain answers to your questions. At one point, you will even see two police officers throwing the bag next to the tanks before leaving,’ he added.
Invited in turn to enlighten the court, Bénédicte Tshioba, a teller at the bank, explained that she had handed over the money to Honorine Porsche out of fear, after receiving death threats. ‘It was out of fear that I gave her the money, because I saw death before me. In her statement, Honorine Porsche said, “Do you want to die? If not, give me the money,”’ said the Rawbank teller.

‘I put US$10,500 and 28 million of CDF in her bag. There were small denominations of CDF 10,000, 20,000 and even 50,’ she added, while pointing out that she had never met the woman alleged to have carried out the robbery. Regarding the inaccuracies pointed out by the various defence lawyers concerning the exact amount of money in her cash register on the day of the robbery, the informant said that the bank’s accountants and auditors were in a better position to provide this detail. « That is why I insisted that the bank’s accountants and auditors will give you this information. I stand by the 28 million francs and 10,500 dollars. Let’s wait for the auditors. »
It should be noted that Honorine Porsche and her co-defendants are being tried for three offences: terrorism, criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, crimes they allegedly committed on October 16th during a bank robbery in Kinshasa.
