Kananga, June 24th, 2026 (CPA).- The parking of vehicles for more than 48 hours on public roads has been banned in Kananga, capital of Kasai Central Province in central Democratic Republic of the Congo, in order to ensure smooth traffic flow, according to a city hall communiqué read on Wednesday. “The Mayor of Kananga informs transport operators and vehicle owners of the ban, effective immediately, on parking heavy trucks and other vehicles on public roads for more than 48 hours. This measure aims to ensure smooth traffic flow, strengthen road user safety, prevent traffic congestion and preserve public order,” said Rose Mwadi, Mayor of Kananga, as quoted in the communiqué. The city executive further urged all transporters to park their vehicles in their garages or official parking areas. The mayor warned that any vehicle found in violation of the 48-hour parking limit will be impounded and taken to the traffic police (PCR) for payment of fines in accordance with national legal provisions.
