Nord-Kivu: the youth mobilised to join the army

Beni, March 3^rd, 2026 (CPA).- A retired general officer of the Congolese National Police, who was staying in Beni, Nord-Kivu province, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has mobilised the youth to join the army, as defence is important, CPA has learned on Tuesday from official sources. ‘I issue an appeal to all my brothers and grandsons to join the army to ensure and commit to defend our homeland ourselves, because a country without defence is a stillborn country,’ has declared General Daniel Katsuva, a retired senior police officer. General Daniel Katsuva is one of the few retired military officers from the Lubero territory who has served under the flag for more than 40 years. He has arrived in the region for a family visit after more than 30 years away from his home territory.
