Kinshasa, July 15th, 2025 (CPA). – The Peace and the agricultural re-launching in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and in the Great Lakes region have been discussed on Monday during an audience granted by the Head of State to a delegation of pastors visiting Kinshasa, according to information released on Tuesday by the Congolese Presidency.
‘We thank God for the President Tshisekedi, thank God for allowing us to be received on the Congolese soil,’ has declared Reverend Dr Robert Kayanja, personal pastor to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, who was accompanied by Congolese Archbishop Evariste Ejiba Yamapia, president of the Church of Revival in Congo (ERC), at the audience which has taken place at the presidential residence in Mont-Ngaliema.
‘The Congo is very precious to us. The Congo has stood up for the African people for many years,’ he has indicated, joyfully affirming that, to date, the news is good for the future of the region.
At the same time, the Ugandan pastor has said he had informed the Head of State of the crusade that the American Pastor and prophet Benny Hinn is planning to organise soon in Kinshasa, and is delighted with the President Tshisekedi’s approval of this. ‘The date of this great event will be announced soon,’ he has said. Having a special history with DRC, a land where his grandfather has worked as a missionary for many years, Pastor Kayanja has reiterated his attachment to the Lumumba’s country. ‘We love Congo. The revival of East Africa has begun in Congo. And there is a very strong connection between Congo and the region,’ he has indicated. The President Yoweri Museveni’s personal pastor has acknowledged the President Tshisekedi’s merit for his involvement in apostolic work in DRC.
‘We thank the President of the Republic, Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi, for taking care of this giant, because the revival will begin in Congo,’ he has added. Speaking about agriculture, Pastor Robert Kayanja has informed the Head of State of his various merits and diplomas recently received in recognition of his extensive work in the sector. He has promised to return with agricultural projects to combat poverty and food insecurity. Last weekend, the President Felix Tshisekedi has also received a delegation of American pastors, members of the White House Faith Office, who were visiting the Congolese capital to hold a prayer meeting.
The delegation, led by its deputy director, Pastor Travis Johnson, has assured the Head of State of his organisation’s spiritual support for the return of peace to the eastern part of the country. These prayer programmes for the return of peace to the eastern part of the African continent are multiplying in the days following the signing of the peace agreement in Washington (USA) between the Congolese and Rwandan Ministers in charge of Foreign Affairs. The Heads of State of the two countries will in turn meet at the White House to sign that agreement. CPA/ NGOY
