Kinshasa, July 20th, 2025 (CPA). – A sanitation operation called ‘Balabala ezali fulu te’ (The street is not a rubbish bin), aimed at protecting the public, has been launched in Masina, a commune in eastern Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, the project’s initiator announced on Sunday. « The “Balabala ezali fulu te” clean-up operation is a project that aims to protect the public and the environment by preventing pollution in the Sans Fil neighborhood in particular and the municipality of Masina in general. To ensure the sustainability of this sanitation effort, we are calling on all residents of the municipality of Masina to participate so that together we can achieve our goal, » said Francis Kabongo. ‘Through this project, we will organize a salongo every Saturday to collect all the rubbish and drain the sewage from the gutters in order to clean up our Sans Fil neighborhood,’ he explained. To facilitate the implementation of this project, Maître Kabongo took the opportunity to provide the residents of the Sans Fil neighborhood with some tools to help them carry out this sanitation work, such as shovels, pickaxes, spades and rakes.

These tools will be used by the residents of the Sans Fil neighborhood to clean up their streets, which will help to support the project on the one hand and ensure a healthy and safe environment free from disease on the other. It should be noted that the ‘Balabala ezali fulu te’ sanitation project is an initiative of Maître Francis Kabongo, a resident of the municipality of Masina. ACP/
